Newcastle trainer Kris Lees isn’t too perturbed by the 59kg the former New Zealand Group One winner Sound Proposition will carry on his adopted home track in Friday’s Gr.3 Cameron Handicap (1500m).
“He’s got plenty of weight, but he is a capable horse fresh,” Lees said. “It’s only a small field and I think he’s in for a nice preparation.”
The winner of the 2016 Easter Stakes when trained by Lance O’Sullivan and Andrew Scott, Sound Proposition has been successful at Randwick in both of his starts for Lees.
