Heroic Valour winning last years Northland Breeders' Stakes

The Tavistock Northland Breeders’ Stakes at Ruakaka on September 16 has received a status upgrade.
The three-year-old 1200m feature has been lifted from a Listed event to Group Three and the stake will rise from $50,000 to $70,000.
The Breeders’ Stakes was upgraded by the New Zealand Pattern Committee, which noted the race had consistently attracted three-year-olds who continued to perform at the highest levels later in the season.
It was won in 2016 by Heroic Valour, The Justice League the previous year and by Vespa in 2014.
