Janelle Millar has a long-term Group plan for her genuine mare Hard To Be Humble.
“Next season I think she could be a New Zealand Cup horse,” the Taranaki horsewoman said. “She’ll love Riccarton and she will definitely get 3200 metres.”
In the meantime, Millar is more than happy with the Roc de Cambes mare’s condition ahead of Saturday’s SVS Veterinary Services 2100 at Te Rapa.
“She’s very well and she’s been pretty consistent this time around,” she said. “She used to sweat up a lot when she travelled, but she’s had a couple of trips away now with the pony, who settles her down.”
Hard To Be Humble has two wins and five placings from her last seven starts for Millar, who co-bred the late-maturing six-year-old and shares in her ownership.
