Three-year-olds have been presented with an added black type opportunity on the opening day of the Hawke’s Bay carnival on September 2.
The New Zealand Pattern Committee has upgraded the El Roca Trophy to Listed status with the stake increased from $25,000 to $50,000.
The race has attracted strong fields in each of the past three editions and last year it was won by Ugo Foscolo, who beat Hall Of Fame. Both horses were subsequent Group One winners.
