Lindsay Park has had success with Trans-Tasman gallopers in recent times, and the team is hoping Sin To Win can follow suit on his Australian debut this Saturday.
Toorak Handicap winner He's Our Rokkii and Australian Guineas placegetter Risque have been two prominent propositions to have come across from NZ to join the training triumvirate of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.
And Ben Hayes said on Tuesday he feels Sin To Win, a five-year-old by Sir Percy, could be in the realms of Roc De Cambes gelding He's Our Rokkii, who won six races in a seven-start period in 2016 that peaked with the Group 1 Toorak success.
Saturday's 1400m Benchmark 84 marks Sin To Win's first Australian start, looking to build on his NZ record of three wins from five attempts.
"He's a lightly-raced New Zealand gelding - he's got a similar profile to He's Our Rokkii," Hayes said at Flemington trackwork.
"He's won three nice races over there [in New Zealand] from 14 [hundred] to a mile. He's kicking off for us for the first time.
"He's shown us he's a nice horse. He's lazy in trackwork, but his trials have shown us he's got good ability.
"Off his trials, I think he definitely could [win first-up]."
Meanwhile, UK import Foundation continues his Australian career on Saturday in a 1600m handicap.
Group 2 and Group 3-placed in the UK, Foundation started out in Australia when well beaten in the listed 1400m race in March won by Hellova Street.
And Hayes said he'll still need further than the mile that he'll contest on Saturday, despite being more used to the Australian way of life.
"He had one start for us last prep - he just needed a bit more time to acclimatise," he said.
"He's had a long break now, and he's really strengthened and he's looking well in the coat at the moment.
"And his trackwork suggests he has acclimatised, so looking forward to him running first-up over the mile, but he's a horse that needs further."
Early three-year-old Madeenaty can arrest the punters' opinion of her down the straight, when she returns on Saturday.
The Exceed And Excel filly runs over 1000m first-up with 60kg. She was dominant over that trip on debut in the Listed Marirbyrnong Trial Stakes, but in two subsequent five-furlong dashes at Headquarters, she has been rolled at $1.60 and $1.45.
Hayes said Madeenaty has improved in her time off since the autumn, when she finished 10th in the Golden Slipper in March.
"She's returned fantastic. I think this prep her temperament's a lot better," he said.
"She was a very fizzy horse at the races. But from her trials, she's been a lot better, and around the yard and at home as well.
"Her trial last Friday was excellent." - racing.com
