New Zealand-bred Cruising Speed can put the icing on a great season for Ontrack Racing syndicates if she wins the Listed Tattersall's Mile at Doomben.
Gold Coast-based Ontrack Racing is one of the bigger syndication companies in Australia and is best known for the Group One-winning sprinter Brazen Beauwho is now a shuttle stallion.
Ontrack Racing manager Grant Morgan said 2016/17 had been outstanding for the group with winners in three states.
"It has been our best season and our horses have been most consistent. I think the Bjorn Baker trained Test The World, who won four races, is the leading BOBS bonus horse in NSW," Morgan said.
"Gerald Ryan's Girl Sunday won three races for us and Impregnable has won three for Toby Edmonds. Of course John Meagher in Brisbane has been great for us with Cruising Speed and our Group Three and Two winning filly Savanna Amour. That is just a few of our wins."
Morgan said Cruising Speed was probably stepping out to her maximum distance at 1600m in Saturday's Tattersall's Mile.
"We have always felt she was more a 1200 to 1400 metre horse but she is honest and won in good company two runs back before having no luck last time," Morgan said.
"The Tatt's Mile is the last black-type race of the season and even if she runs a place it will add to her value as a broodmare."
"She is very well bred on both sides of her pedigree being by Savabeel out a mare who carries the bloodlines of the champion Emancipation."
Bridget Grylls will ride Cruising Speed as a reward for her work in riding track work.
"She is a natural lightweight and rode a winner for John (Meagher) last Saturday," Morgan said.-AAP
