The Kevin Myers-trained Sea King will board a flight to Melbourne today (Wednesday).
The top New Zealand jumper, who won the Awapuni Hurdles two runs back, will open his fourth Australian campaign at Bendigo on Sunday in the Brendan Drechsler Hurdles.
“All going well, the plan is for him to run in the Crisp Steeplechase and then the Grand National Steeplechase,” part-owner Rachael Frost said.
Sea King’s Australian winning tally includes the Mosstrooper (twice) and Thackeray Steeplechases and the Grand National and Lafferty Hurdles.
