Capable winter galloper Mr Luigi is over recent setbacks.
He had won both of his trials before he finished out of the money for the first time in his career when resuming at Tauranga last month.
“He had quite a bad foot infection and he missed some work, but we thought we had him right with a lot of swimming,” trainer Peter Lock said.
“He then coughed a bit after the race and we had him scoped and it showed he had a cold, which the bloods didn’t pick up.
“We’ve treated him and he’s good now, right back to his old self.”
