Trainer Bjorn Baker will welcome back potential black-type mare Your Way to racing on her home track after a virus slowed her progress during autumn.
The four-year-old was in a rich vein of form heading towards The Championships but instead went to the paddock when the illness was detected after she won at Randwick in February.
"I wanted to keep her going in the autumn but she got a bit of a virusand we had to put her out," Baker said.
"She's coming back in good order and if she does everything well we mayeven consider hitting an early spring black-type race."
Your Way has won seven of her nine starts and four of her past five.
"She's an exciting prospect," Baker said.
"You don't get a record like hers without being a very genuine, capable horse."
Your Way resumes at Warwick Farm on Saturday when she lines up in the Schweppes Handicap (1100m) with stablemates Embley and Sangiovese.
"She's got a bit of weight to contend with (60kg) but she's a good filly," Baker said.
Providing the comeback goes to plan, Baker said Your Way will be stepped up to 1200 to 1400 metres during this preparation. -AAP
