Trainer Chris Gangemi maintained a run of success when West Fifty Fourth won Wednesday's Get The Tabtouch Maiden (1000m) at Belmont in Perth.
The O'Reilly gelding, who was making his race debut, started a $2.60 favourite and got up to score by a short neck.
Gangemi expects West Fifty Fourth, a son of New Zealand St Leger runner-up Striptease, to develop into a nice stayer.
"He'll be a lot better when we later increase his distances," Gangemi said. "He's still green and has a lot to learn."
