Moss 'n' Dale will have a crack at further Sydney success in Saturday's TAB Rewards Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill.
Moe trainer Peter Gelagotis made a successful raid when Moss 'N' Dale dead-heated for first in a Benchmark 78 at Randwick on April 22 before continuing his solid form with two top provincial performances.
Moss 'N' Dale enhanced his record with a subsequent win in an open at Warrnambool on May 4 before chasing home Tasmanian galloper Tshahitsi in the Echuca Cup (1400m) on May 28.
Stable manager Manny Gelagotis said connections were initially disappointed the son of Castledale was beaten as a $2.30 favourite at Echuca before Tsahitsi enhanced the form with a comfortable Flemington success last Saturday.
"He's a really good talent and I was a bit disappointed he didn't win at Echuca but when I saw that horse come out and do what he did last Saturday at Flemington, I conceded that he was beaten by a good horse in really good form," Gelagotis said.
Moss 'N' Dale has won seven of his 21 starts with five of those victories coming on rain-affected tracks. The Rosehill circuit was rated a heavy (9) at acceptance time with showers forecast for Friday and Saturday.
"He's very effective on wet ground and you can take that horse anywhere to compete in the right conditions," Gelagotis said.
"He's a tough bread-and-butter horse and you always know what you are going to get. He's built a beautiful little CV and he'll be competitive."
Apprentice Jack Martin rode Moss 'N' Dale at his last Sydney outing and will be aboard again on Saturday. Martin's 3kg claim will leave Moss 'N' Dale to carry 56kg in his A$100,000 assignment.
"Jack has had two rides for two wins and get on well with him but the horse will make his own luck and we're happy with the condition of him and he'll be hard to beat," Gelagotis said.
