Punters have been warned to overlook the last-start failure of the New Zealand-bred sprinter Music Magnate when assessing his chances in Saturday's Gr.1 Darley Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm.
That advice came from jockey Jeff Lloyd, who has been impressed by the Bjorn Baker-trained gelding's lead-up work.
"I think you can ignore the Doomben 10,000 run. Nothing went right as I got in behind horses and then got on their heels and was pushed out of the race," Lloyd said. "I would hope to be a lot handier on Saturday."
Music Magnate is a proven Queensland carnival performer having won last year's edition of the Gr.1 Doomben 10,000.
