Death of Bahhare

Bahhare
Bahhare

Group winner and producer Bahhare died on Sunday.

The American-bred son of Woodman enjoyed his best years at Rich Hill Stud before he transferred to The Pines at Rakaia.

"He was a lovely horse to deal with," Rich Hill's John Thompson said. "He was New Zealand's champion sire of two-year-olds in the 2003-04 season."

A Group Two-winning two-year-old in England, Bahhare's best Southern Hemisphere representatives included Hurrah (Gr.1 Captain Cook Stakes), Dowry (Gr.1 South Australian Oaks), Purde (Gr.3 Auraria Stakes) and Carlisle Bay (Gr.3 Sha Tin Trophy).

He also sired the Northern Hemisphere stakes winners Katdogawn, Baqah and Jazz Princess.
