The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained two-year-old Electrode proved too good winning the NZB insurance Pearl Series event over 1150m at Te Awamutu on Monday.
The daughter of Pins had won a trial at the course last month and handled the Slow8 conditions on raceday with aplomb.

"That was promising," said Forsman. "The plan was to lead or at least be outside the leader and it was a little bit messy early on. She was over-racing in behind them and had to hook out wide and change ground, so it was a good effort.
"There's not a lot of her, so we will see how she comes through the run. She obviously gets through this ground alright, so we'll definitely look at black-type options with her in the coming months."
