A changing of the guard is forthcoming at the Auckland Racing Club.

Chief executive officer Cameron George has resigned after joining the operation in August, 2012.

"Cameron has been an outstanding chief executive officer," ARC chairman Paul Kenny said.

"The board and I are deeply appreciative of his determination to see both his, and our, collective aspirations for the club bear fruit.

"While we are sorry to see him leave, we wish him every success with his next venture."

Mr George officially finishes with the Club on Friday, June 30, and is moving on to the role of chief operating officer with the New Zealand Vodafone Warriors.

Accordingly, ARC financial officer Tim Gillespie has been announced as acting chief executive officer from the date of Cameron's departure.
