Group One-winning trainer Tony Kaye has lost his battle with cancer.
The Awapuni horseman underwent surgery after he was diagnosed soon after Christmas, but sadly he passed away last Friday.
The 53-year-old enjoyed his finest racing moments with the Gr.1 Haunui Farm Classic and the Gr.2 Awapuni Gold Cup winner Iamishwara, a bargain Karaka buy he raced with his wife Nicky.
Kaye's funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 19, at the Terracehaven Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North at 1pm.
