Spring Group One hopes are held for Ardrossan, an impressive debut winner at Pukekohe Park earlier this month.
The Redoute's Choice colt will make one more appearance from Stephen Marsh's stable in the Listed Hamilton Vets Equine Stakes at Te Rapa on May 6 before he transfers to Melbourne.
"Providing he runs up to expectations, he'll be joining Mick Price's team and he'll have a few days in his stable and then spell," said Bruce Perry, racing manager for Lib Petagna who shares in the ownership of Ardrossan.
"He'll be set for the three-year-old sprints in Melbourne with the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day hopefully the target."
