IFFRAAJ SERVICE FEE ANNOUNCED FOR 2017

Off the back of a phenomenal month, Haunui Farm have today announced the service fee for dual Derby-producing sire Iffraaj at $25,000 + GST.

Returning to Haunui Farm for his tenth consecutive season, 2017 has been a breakout year for the Darley-owned stallion whose statistics have always been right up there with the best.

Haunui Farm's Mark Chitty says, "The past few weeks have been very satisfying to say the least. We have always had every confidence in Iffraaj and for him to have sired a Karaka Million winner, the winner of the New Zealand Derby and, winner of the Australian Derby from the one crop is an outstanding achievement and it's finally seeing him get the accolades that he deserves."

Iffraaj's current three-year-old crop features five stakes winners, including the Group One Derby duo of Gingernuts and Jon Snow whilst in total his six Southern Hemisphere crops of racing age have produced 31 stakes performers including 19 stakes winners.

"We have never been ones to get too carried away when setting our fees but after discussions with Darley and the fact that Iffraaj is strictly limited to 100 mares, we are comfortable that at a fee of $25,000, many of those who have supported Iffraaj and helped him into his current position, will still be able to do so.

"The fact that Iffraaj has made the trip to New Zealand each and every year since he started in 2008 is testament to our ongoing relationship with Darley and we are very grateful to Sheikh Mohammed and his team in both the Northern Hemisphere and Australia, for their support and understanding of the differences in terms of the New Zealand market. That has certainly helped to give breeders confidence to support Iffraaj and that is what sees him in the successful position he is currently in."

Iffraaj will once again serve a strictly limited book of 100 mares.

Applications for the 2017 breeding season are currently being taken and will close on 30th April 2017. For more information, please feel free to contact Mark Chitty – 021 663 995 or Shannon Taylor – 0212 855 513.
