Fears that Group One winner Tavago had suffered a serious ligament or tendon injury have eased.
The New Zealand-bred son of Tavistock pulled up lame after finishing at the back of the field in last Saturday's Gr.1 The BMW, but subsequent scans have delivered a more hopeful result.
"All his fibres are intact," said Natalie Young, who trains Tavago with her partner Trent Busuttin.
"That is a massive relief, we may get him to a spring carnival yet."
