Jonathan Riddell will partner Devise in the Gr.1 Wellfield New Zealand Oaks at Trentham on Saturday week.
The Awapuni-based jockey has been booked as a result of original rider Jason Waddell copping a careless riding suspension at Avondale on Wednesday.
"It's unfortunately a bit of history as Jason was supposed to ride Keep The Peace in the Oaks for us and he got suspended and Opie (Bosson) took over and won," Devise's trainer Shaune Ritchie said.
"Jason was also narrowly beaten on Zurella when Artistic won. It's a shame the way it's worked out, but Jonathan isn't lacking strength or quality when it comes to Group One races."
