Napoleon is in career-best form as he continues to win his way toward his first black type challenge.

The Otaki stayer has been set for the Listed Lincoln Farms New Zealand St Leger on Saturday week and Rachael Frost is confident the four-year-old will relish the 2500 metre distance of the Trentham feature.

"We'll see whether he's up to that class, but at least I know that he'll stay," the Otaki trainer said.

In the meantime, Napoleon will attempt to complete a hat-trick of victories when he runs in the Mills Reef Winery Handicap on his home track on Friday.

"I was going to go straight to the St Leger, but this looks a nice race for him and he should be hard to beat," Frost said.

Napoleon, who will be ridden by Kelly McCulloch, was a dual winner at the Wairoa meeting last month with 1900 and 2100 metre successes within the space of three days.

McCulloch will also be on Soul Serenade, who will make her first appearance for Frost in the Riverstone Café Maiden.

"She finished second in a recent jump-out and she's been working well since," Frost said.

Soul Serenade was previously with Brendon Hawtin with her best effort in four starts for him a fourth placing at Tauranga in December. – NZ Racing Desk.
