A foot issue prevented the Darren Weir-trained Lord Van Percy from crossing the Tasman for Saturday's Gr.1 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup.

"He had a foot abscess, it was nothing serious but it was a long way to go with him not quite being 100 per cent," Weir's racing manager Jeremy Rogers said.

Meanwhile, the stable is bullish about the prospects of the former New Zealand-trained Humidor in Saturday's Gr.1 Australian Cup.

"He's really well and he's a seriously good horse," Rogers said.

Humidor has finished in the money in all three of his starts since joining Weir's stable, including a most recent second in the Gr.2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield.
