Zac Purton has been approached to ride Summer Passage in the Gr.1 Sistema Stakes at Ellerslie next Saturday when the Listed winner will be on trial for a possible Sydney trip.
"I haven't spoken to Zac but I understand the owner, who is in Hong Kong, has approached him about the ride," said Lance O'Sullivan, who trains Summer Passage in partnership with Andrew Scott.
Winner of the Listed Reid & Harrison Slipper at Matamata, Summer Passage holds a nomination for the Gr.1 Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill on March 17 and is also in consideration for the Gr.1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes.
The decision has been made to run him at Ellerslie for more experience and a call will then be made on Sydney, where the ATC Sires Produce Stakes is a more likely option than the Golden Slipper.
O'Sullivan and Scott are also likely to start Princess Rihanna in the Sistema Stakes after her fourth in the Gr.2 J. Swap Matamata Breeders Stakes.
"She came through the Breeders run exceptionally well," Scott said. "We've got no worries backing her up."
