Dreamcrafter will be out to keep her New Zealand Oaks prospects alive when she contests the Gr.3 McKee Family Sunline Vase at Ellerslie on Saturday.

The Matamata filly took her record to two wins and a fourth from six starts when scoring over 1600 metres at Avondale last week, but left some doubts that she will be ready for the demands of the 2400-metre Gr.1 Wellfield New Zealand Oaks on March 18 when racing greenly over the final stages.

"She was a bit lost out in front on her own and didn't know which way to go," said co-trainer Pam Gerard.

"She'd have been better with something beside her. She's a busy horse and mentally she's not ready for the Oaks, but we're taking it one race at a time."

Mark Du Plessis has been Dreamcrafter's regular rider, but has another commitment in the Sunline Vase and Jason Waddell is likely to take the mount on the Mastercraftsman filly on Saturday.
