Stuart Manning enjoyed an impressive success as the breeder, owner and trainer of Gisborne winner Milly Moo today while he offers her full sister for sale in the current gavelhouse.com New Zealand auction.
Winning over 1200m, Milly Moo broke her maiden in style at her sixth start putting a big margin on her rivals at the popular Poverty Bay meeting.
"Milly Moo appreciated the cut in the track today and that's what her full sister Keen to Keeper's been looking for with her recent runs all on better tracks," commented Manning after the race.
"I've got a lot of young horses coming through and need to make room for them somehow so selling off some of the older ones is the logical thing to do with Keen to Keeper falling into that category."
"She's a lovely big mare who's only just matured into her rangy frame and I think she'd go well over the mile to middle distances down the South Island over the winter."
"I've kept her in full work and whoever buys her would be able to line her up within weeks."
Keen to Keeper, by Keeper, has placed on seven occasions and is a daughter of winning mare Bettieboop who is a half-sister to Manning's multiple stakes-winner Katy Keen and the stakes-placed Rotorua.
Keen to Keeper is one of the current 30-Lot gavelhouse.com New Zealand catalogue which also features quality yearlings by the likes of Makfi, Savabeel, Tavistock, Per Incanto, Rip Van Winkle, Alamosa, Jimmy Choux, Ocean Park, Burgundy and He's Remarkable. The auction will close tomorrow from 7pm (NZ time).
Entries for the next gavelhouse.com Australia auction close at 7pm AEDT on tomorrow, Monday 20 February.
