Trainer Shaune Ritchie believes four-year-old mare Let Her Rip is the best chance of his nine weekend runners.

The talented daughter of Rip Van Winkle will step out in the Harold Tuson Memorial 1400 at New Plymouth on Saturday and will have the services of champion jockey Lisa Allpress.

A three-time winner, Let Her Rip endured a chequered-passage at Pukekohe last start and caught the eye with a closing third.

"She should be hard to beat and she doesn't mind give in the ground," Ritchie said.

"I thought she was unlucky last start and the step up to 1400 metres should suit. She has got to be a very strong winning chance."

Ritchie's Gr.1 Vodafone New Zealand Derby-bound pair of Redeem The Dream and Excalibur will line up at Ellerslie in the Gr.2 Retina Specialists Avondale Guineas and Auckland Eye 2100 respectively. Both colts have drawn poorly in barrier 15 in their respective races.
