Terry Moseley earned his slice of New Zealand racing history when he guided Admiral Rous to victory at Riccarton on Thursday.
The 49-year-old's success in the NZB Insurance Pearl Series – Register Your Yearling Filly marked the 1000th victory of his lengthy career.
"It's very special and I want to thank all the owners and the trainers who have put me on over the years," Moseley said. "There's been a lot of hard work gone on behind the scenes.
"You're only as good as the support you get and from Kenny Rae to Kelly Thompson at Invercargill and everyone in between it's been great. The support I've had has been very humbling."
From a racing family, the Hawera-raised Moseley enjoyed his best season in 2015-16 with 65 winners, the first time he has passed the half-century mark.
The Christchurch-based jockey has enjoyed numerous highlights and they include the 2003 Gr.2 New Zealand Cup aboard the Mandy and Matt Brown-trained Torlesse and the 2015 Gr.3 Canterbury Gold Cup on Scapolo for Kevin Myers.
Another victory he fondly looks back on was his Gr.3 Thompson Handicap victory at Trentham in 1985 on Silver Samurai, who was trained by his sister Dianne. – NZ Racing Desk.
