Sound Proposition will return to racing in the open 1500 metre handicap at Ellerslie on Saturday week.
Last season's Gr.1 Easter Stakes winner suffered from cardiac arrhythmia when unplaced last time out in the Gr.1 Zabeel Classic.
Co-trainer Andrew Scott said as long as Sound Proposition ran up to expectations, he would continue on a path towards the Gr.1 Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes on March 11.
Stablemate Gentil Tonton is also expected to be at Ellerslie that day for the Gr.1 Barfoot & Thompson Auckland Cup.
"He'll run at Matamata in the open 2000 before that. Hopefully we might get a bit of rain for the Cup. We've seen that in the last few years."
