Nurse Kitchen back bigger and better

Mornington trainer David Brideoake has got a strong hand for the coming autumn, headed by the mare Thames Court and New Zealand bred filly Nurse Kitchen.

The Brideoake camp are eyeing a trip to Sydney - they had success there last year with Griante winning the Gr.1 Galaxy - with both Thames Court and Nurse Kitchen.

Nurse Kitchen is on a path towards the Gr.1 ATC Oaks (2400m), and could run in the Gr.1 Australian Guineas (1600m) on her way there.

Nurse Kitchen enjoyed a trip to Sandown on Wednesday, galloping over 1000m on the Lakeside track with stablemate Hardham, under the watchful eye of one of their most high-profile owners, Peter Moody.

Brideoake's assistant trainer Alex Woodhams said Nurse Kitchen, winner of the Gr.2 Fillies Classic (1600m) on Cox Plate Day, had filled out in her break.

"She's come back exceptional," he reported.

"We didn't push on too deep into the spring, gave her a nice spell.

"She's grown and furnished into a really lovely filly this time. We knew she'd take some time to mature, and she's done that, and she's quite big and strong now."

Woodhams said she is 'pretty push button', and the hope is to have multiple runs in Sydney with her. -racing.com
