Proven stayer Snow Secret is likely to take a softer option ahead of a Group One test.
"We'll probably run her in the Rating 85 over 2400 metres at Te Rapa," trainer Shaune Ritchie said.
"She's better left-handed, but with a lack of other options she'll go for the Auckland Cup."
Placed up to 3200 metres, Snow Secret was an unlucky last-start seventh in the Gr.2 Wellington Cup when she was twice disappointed for runs in the straight.
"She certainly didn't get the rub of the green," Ritchie said.
