Multiple winner and Group performer Candle In The Wind has run her last race.
She was to have stepped out in Sunday's Karaka Stayers' Cup, which she won in 2015, but she suffered an injury in the lead-up to Ellerslie.
"She's got a very slight hole in a tendon so she's been retired," co-trainer Donna Logan said.
"It's sad for the owners, but she's been a great $2500 purchase – she's done us all proud."
Candle In The Wind's seven wins and 10 placings were rewarded with earnings in excess of $200,000.
