John Moore is confident that the New Zealand-bred Werther is ready for a bold showing in Monday's HK-Gr.1 Stewards' Cup at Sha Tin.
The son of Tavistock, who is Hong Kong's reigning Horse of the Year, has worked in fine style this week under Sam Clipperton ahead of his return following injury.
"He galloped very, very well with Joyful Trinity," Moore said. "Werther worked the place down - Sam was excited to be on him."
"He's very clean-winded, but there'll be further improvement, fitness-wise, from this race. The Hong Kong Gold Cup next month would be the target for him."
