Group One performer Spieth is making good progress toward his return to racing in the Gr.1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington on February 18.
The New Zealand-bred son of Thorn Park placed at the Warwick Farm trials this week ahead of his resuming run.
"We don't need to be over-exerting him and asking him for too much at present," trainer Bryce Heys said.
"He'll run in the Lightning and the Newmarket looks the logical progression for him."
Spieth is the Listed winner of five races and he also finished runner-up in the Gr.1 Darley Classic at his last appearance.
