Talented New Zealand stayer Humidor will make his first appearance for champion Victorian trainer Darren Weir in Thursday's Listed John Dillon Stakes at Caulfield.
Formerly prepared by Johno Benner and Hollie Wynyard, the Teofilo four-year-old has won four of his 10 starts, including the Gr.3 Manawatu Classic and last spring he was narrowly beaten in the Gr.1 Livamol Classic.
Humidor subsequently finished ninth, after a chequered run, in the Gr.1 Cantala Stakes at Flemington. His New Zealand owners John and Mark Carter and their sister Rachael, who race under their Jomara Bloodstock banner, then sold 50 per cent to clients of Weir's stable.
"He's a new horse to us. He's just a good galloper," Weir said. "He and Real Love are on an Australian Cup path, and Tosen Stardom will join in a fortnight later in the Carlyon Cup at Caulfield."
The $A1.5 million Gr.1 Australian Cup will be run over 2000 metres at Flemington on March 11.
