Jakkalberry: Karaka First Season Sire

Jakkalberry
(Storming Home x Claba Di San Jore by Barathea)
2 Premier, 6 Select, 8 Festival
2014 Stud Fee: $6,000+GST

Novara Park's foundation sire Jakkalberry will be represented by 16 yearlings at Karaka.

A son of the Machiavellian stallion Storming Home, the well-travelled Jakkalberry is a half-brother to four stakes winners, including the Italian Group One winners Crackerjack King and Awelmarduk.

Jakkalberry is the Group One winner of 12 races, with his successes coming in Italy, Dubai, the United States and Great Britain. He is best remembered in this hemisphere for his third placing behind Green Moon and Fiorente in the 2012 Melbourne Cup.

"The feedback from the parades has been very positive," Novara Park's Ray Knight said. "I am really looking forward to the sale. They are lovely, athletic horses and I couldn't be happier with the two we have in Premier."

The first Jakkalberry colt to go through the Karaka ring is a three-quarter brother to VRC Derby winner Lion Tamer, while his other Premier sale representative is a half-brother to Gr.1 Melbourne Cup and VRC Derby winner Efficient.
