Highly-regarded six-year-old Mr Luigi has returned to Peter Lock's stable.
"He went out when the tracks were getting a bit too firm for him and he's come back in tremendous order," the Te Aroha trainer said.
The winner of three of his 11 starts, Mr Luigi was luckless in his last appearance at Trentham where he finished third after copping a severe check 1000 metres from home.
Meanwhile, a bright future has been tipped for Mr Luigi's aptly-named stablemate Boundary, who is part-owned by former Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum.
"She's an outstanding filly and she trialled really well at Te Aroha," Lock said of the three-year-old's midweek second placing.
