Nashville is likely to defend his Gr.3 Mills Reef Winery Trentham Stakes crown later this month.
While the Hunterville galloper may not be the force he once was, his connections believe him to be a black type contender in the right races.
"He's not quite up to those top ones now, but he still wants to be competitive so it's about placement with him," said Harry Bull, who trains Nashville at Hunterville with his father Adrian.
Nashville, who made late ground for a last-start seventh in the Listed Timaru Cup, won the 2013 and 2013 editions of the Gr.1 Haunui Farm WFA Classic.
