Quality mare Stolen Dance rounded off her quest for a first Group One victory with a narrow victory at Tauranga on Monday.

She was only opposed by three rivals in the Gartshore Retail Fit Outs Handicap and, under apprentice Sam Weatherley, she got in the deciding stride to beat Packing Tycoon.

"We could have run her in the Rich Hill Mile, but she would have carried 59kg on a hard track," trainer David Greene said.

"It's all about the Thorndon Mile – that's the one we want to win. We know what a good horse she is and with 55kg on her back we're looking forward to it."

A Group Two winner and multiple Group One placegetter, Stolen Dance is currently an $8 chance for the feature Trentham contest on January 28.
