Johnathan Parkes says attitude is everything for a jockey heading into the busy Christmas racing period.
Wanganui-based Parkes will ride at New Plymouth on Saturday, Ellerslie on Monday, New Plymouth next Tuesday, Stratford on the 31st, Ellerslie on New Year's Day and Tauherenikau on January 2.
"You've got to enjoy it. It beats riding through the middle of winter," Parkes said.
"We're normally racing for better stakes on good tracks in front of big holiday crowds and that all gets you excited. It's an enjoyable period especially if you've got a few good rides to look forward to — and I have."
