Smart three-year-old Top Prospect will miss the Gr.2 Jamieson Park Great Northern Guineas at Ellerslie on New Year's Day.
"He pulled a muscle. It's nothing serious and hopefully he won't be away from the races for long," trainer Richard Collett told The Informant.
He said Top Prospect, who is unbeaten in his last three starts, remains on target for the Gr.1 Vodafone New Zealand Derby.
