Lightly-raced colt Weatherly could be in line for a trip to New Zealand.
Nominated for the Gr.1 J. R & N. Berkett Telegraph at Trentham, the three-year-old will make an overdue return to racing in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap at Randwick on Saturday.
"He's a first-class horse. He's a top-ender there's no doubt about that," Scone trainer Paul Messara said. "Every time he's been ready to race we've had a setback so it's cost him a fair bit."
Weatherly won the Listed Talindert Stakes at Flemington earlier this year and he hasn't raced since he finished third in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes at Randwick in March.
