New Zealand-bred six-year-old Hazzabeel has earned himself a return trip to Sydney for Saturday's Gr.2 Villiers Stakes at Randwick.
The Ciaron Maher-trained son of Zabeel was a last-start second in the Gr.3 Festival Stakes at Rosehill and he will again be ridden by Kiwi jockey Michael Dee.
"The extra 100 metres over the mile will suit him and fingers crossed he'll be very competitive," Maher's assistant trainer David Eustace said.
"He was finding the line really well in the Festival Stakes and the post just came too soon really."
