Time has been a friend to the classic-bound three-year-old Camino Rocoso.
The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained gelding opened his account in good style at Ellerslie on Wednesday at his fifth appearance.
"He's always looked a really nice horse, he's just been immature," Forsman said. "He's got the ability and we've just had to be patient.
"We might back off a bit now and freshen him and look toward the Waikato and Avondale Guineas on the way through to the Derby."
