Talented mare Cruising Speed (NZ) (Savabeel) will be gunning for her first stakes win on Saturday in the Listed Just Now Handicap (1300m) at Eagle Farm.
Trained by John Meagher and his son Chris, Cruising Speed was purchased by Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds from Waikato Stud's 2014 NZB Premier draft for $80,000.
Cruising Speed finished a handy fourth in the Listed Colin McAlpine Memorial (1400m) at her last start two weeks ago.
"She is much better off here at the handicap conditions," Morgan said.
"We have always felt that Cruising Speed would win a stakes race.
"She will probably be best when she gets to 1600 metres but the 1300 on Saturday should suit her at this stage of her campaign."
