The investigation into the ownership of the Group One-winning New Zealand-bred mare Azkadellia is nearing an end.
"At this point in time the one thing that we seem to be reasonably clear on is the horse was racing in the wrong ownership," Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey said.
"It's quite a complex issue, but we're hopeful we'll get to the end of it before Christmas"
Azkadellia won the Gr.1 Queen of the Turf Stakes in the autumn for trainer Ciaron Maher, whose former racing manager Ben Connolly was listed as owning the daughter of Shinko King.
