Lightly raced Order Again has avenged an unlucky last-start defeat to confirm his rating as a possible winter carnival contender with a decisive win at the Sunshine Coast.

Sent out the $1.50 favourite in Wednesday's 1400m-maiden, Order Again ran down the leader The Amateur ($3) to win by 2-3/4 lengths with 8 lengths to the third horse See Bling ($21).

Trainer Brian Smith said he would enter Order Again for an open three-year-old race over 1600m at Eagle Farm on Saturday week.

"I think he might make a lower grade winter carnival three-year-old. I don't want to be talking about the Derby but I do think he is a 2400 metre horse in the making," Smith said.

"They did put a good margin on the third horse. It was only his third start."

Jockey Larry Cassidy has a good opinion of Order Again who he said had to take the field up to the tearaway leader in The Amateur.

"He should have won his previous start when he had no luck. He is promising," Cassidy said. -AAP
