Debut winner Speedy Grey has been worth waiting for.
The Hong Kong-owned Thorn Park four-year-old successfully started his career at Te Aroha on Wednesday with a dominant front-running performance.
"He trialled well a few weeks ago and he impressed us how he hit the line," trainer Lauren Brennan said. "He's strengthened up a lot now."
Out of the stakes winner Udiditagain, Speedy Grey lived up to his name for rider Michael Coleman to cross the field from an outside barrier to lead and he kicked strongly in the run home to win with ease.
