Ringo remains in the mix for the Gr.1 Rydges Wellington Captain Cook Stakes at Trentham on Saturday week.
"We haven't totally ruled it out - we'll play it by ear and see what develops weather-wise," trainer Mike Breslin said.
For the second consecutive year, Ringo finished runner-up in the Gr.2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile at Riccarton earlier this month when he beat all but Battle Time, who was in receipt of seven kilos.
