Group One performer Farm Boy has suffered an untimely setback.
"He turned in a very good run at Ellerslie and we were looking at the Counties Cup and then he got injured on Guy Fawkes night – he got his leg over a fence and took a lot of skin off, it was a nasty one," co-trainer Tim Carter said.
"It's going to be about a month before we can start working him again. He'll be back in March, but he probably won't be ready for the Auckland Cup."
A multiple Group One placegetter, Farm Boy's five wins include the Gr.2 Avondale Gold Cup.
