The distance isn't expected to pose any problem to the Gr.1 gavelhouse.com NZ 1000 Guineas favourite La Diosa on Saturday, but the Riccarton track might be a worry.
"She's given every indication that a mile-plus would be right up her alley, so we're very happy in that regard," said Matt Brown, who trains the filly with his wife Mandy.
However, the threat of rain is a concern for La Diosa, who is from the family of the 2002 Guineas winner The Jewel.
"We're not sure how she would go on a rain-affected track, I expect a lot of the others are the same," Brown said.
